Who we are
Since 2008 PIXBEE have been producing magazines and entertainment programs for the television market. We also offers aereal images services and production of institutional videos with high production values, having some important clients like RTP, EDP, Run Porto or Berg.
In 2014 we began to invest in cinema projects, specially documentaries, selected in International coproduction Forums like DocLisboa (2014/2016) or Eurodoc (2015/2017) and was present at Docs Barcelona (2014). On that same year we produced the documentary "2 Square Meters", by Ana Oliveira and Rui Oliveira, selected at Festin - Portuguese Itinerant Film Festival (2015).
In 2015 we premiered "Brothers", first feature film of Pedro Magano, about the pilgrimages of Sao Miguel island, winning the Grand Prix at Caminhos Film Festival (PT, 2015), the Golden Lynx for Best Documentary at FEST - New Directors Film Festival (PT, 2016), nominated for Best International documentary at Melgaço Film Festival (PT) and also at Festival Internacional de Cine Documental de Ciudad México, DOCS DF (MX) in 2016. The documentary was also invited to participate on Visions du Réel Film Market, was exibited in Moçambique and Cabo Verde during Mostra Maio Doc 2017 and finally exhibited in New Bedford (USA), where we can find one of the biggest Portuguese emigrant communities. Soon the film will be released at RTP (PT) and at the Portuguese Tv Channel (USA).
Later, in 2016, the documentary "An Ocean Away From Home", by Pedro Magano, shooted between Portugal and Canada, about the forgotten graves of the Portuguese cod fishermen, supported by RTP and ICA - Portuguese National Cinema Institution, won an Honorable Mention at Caminhos Film Festival (PT, 2016), was exibited in Sao Paulo during the Mostra de Cinema Português Contemporâneo (BR, 2016), at Açores Cinema Film Festival (PT, 2017) and very soon during the Portuguese Film Festival of Moscovo (RUS), before having its premiere at RTP Internacional TV channel and at Portuguese Tv Channel (USA).
Finally, Pixbee is finishing the postproduction of "Luana", first fiction shortfilm of Pedro Magano and is developing 3 documentary projects for 2018.
