Who we are

During the last 10 years PIXBEE have been producing institucional videos, TV content and, more and more often, cinematographic projects.

"2 Square Meters" (2014), by Ana Oliveira and Rui Oliveira, was the first documentary of the company, selected at Festin - Portuguese Itinerant Film Festival (2015).

In 2015 we premiered "Brothers", first feature film of Pedro Magano, about the pilgrimages of Sao Miguel island, winning the Grand Prix at Caminhos Film Festival (PT, 2015), the Golden Lynx for Best Documentary at FEST - New Directors Film Festival (PT, 2016), nominated for Best International documentary at Melgaço Film Festival (PT) and also at Festival Internacional de Cine Documental de Ciudad México, DOCS DF (MX) in 2016. The documentary was also invited to participate during Visions du Réel Film Market, exibited in Mozambique and Cabo Verde during Mostra Maio Doc 2017 and finally exhibited in New Bedford (USA). In March 2017 the film was released in DVD and soon will be available on VoD platforms.

Later, in 2016, the documentary "An Ocean Away From Home", by Pedro Magano, shooted between Portugal and Canada, about the forgotten graves of the Portuguese cod fishermen, won an Honorable Mention at Caminhos Film Festival (PT, 2016), was exibited in Sao Paulo during the Mostra de Cinema Português Contemporâneo (BR, 2016), at Azores Film Festival (2017) and also during the Portuguese Film Festival of Moscovo (RUS), before having its premiere at RTP Internacional and at the Portuguese TV Channel (USA).

“Luana” was 2017's project, the first fiction shortfilm of Pedro Magano, currently in postproduction stage, waiting for its release in 2018.

At the same time, Pixbee is preproducing the documentary "Saudade", by Anna Azevedo, a coproduction between Portugal and Brazil.
